What are Novice Meets?
---
These are meets for just our swimmers, those who are new to our program and not yet competing. They are held at the Rec Center, usually from 4:30-6pm. All swimmers receive ribbons and we have pizza afterwards! These are a great introduction to competition for your swimmer.
What are USA-S Meets?
These meets are sanctioned by USA Swimming and have different levels of competition. Your coach will let you know when your swimmer is ready for these meets.
My swimmer is going to attend their first USA-S meet, help!
We have New Parent Meet Packets for those of you who will be attending your first meet. Contact Ellen Youngers to get one. She will put it in your childs mailbox at the Rec Center.
What are Time Standards?
These are times set by Minnesota Swimming and USA Swimming for different levels of swimmers. This way, swimmers can compete against others of similar ability. In Minnesota, C is the time standard for beginning competitors, B is for developing swimmers, A is more accomplished swimmers and CH is a time standard denoting the swimmer has achieved the qualifying standard to attend the Minnesota State Championship Meets held twice yearly at the end of the Short Course (March) and Long Course (August) seasons.
Where do I find Time Standards?
Most are available at the Minnesota Swimming website.
